End of 08

So today is the end of the year 2008. Wow! This year has flown by and 09 is right around the corner, so I figured I would post one last time this year. The past week and a half has been awesome. Kristen and I had never had a whole week off work until last week so we enjoyed that, a lot!! Christmas was great this year! We had get togethers with both of our families and enjoyed it. Ate way too much, but I think that's like a law this time of year anyways, so I don't feel too bad about it.

As of today, the countdown to our wedding reaches 4 1/2 months. Kristen has done such a great job of planning and getting things in line for May 16th!! In 2009 it will be 10 years that Kristen andI have been a couple. Though I annoy her a lot, she sticks around, I know, it puzzles me too. . . . Love you babe!!

Right now on my to do list are several things. I have to get with my parents and put together and plan the rehearsal dinner for our wedding. I have to find out how many of my relatives, and there's a lot, will be able to make it to our wedding. That in itself will be a task. I blame my great grandmother for this, she just had to go off and have like 13 children didn't she. . .There's other stuff too but I don't have the list in front of me right now.

To close out the year of the blog, we just want to thank God for everything he has blessed us with this year. From our families and health, to all of the new friends we have made. Only through him could anything be possible and we pray that this coming year will continue to be as great as 2008 has. We love you all and have a Happy New Year!!

Let there be ICE!!

Last night all of our friends came with us to ICE at Gaylord. It was awesome, we all had a great time! Some of them had never even been to the hotel so it was neat to see there expressions when we walked in the main atrium. Working here everyday I forget how great this hotel really is. I leave work everyday around 4:30pm when it's still light out so I never get to see it at night. It is so much more beautiful with all the lights on. Next week is our big Christmas party with our small group, which is with all of these great people. We are having a pot-luck dinner and of course doing white elephant gifts. Sebastian and I are really looking forward to this.

Here we all are!
My great friend Audrey
Awesome group of friends! Me, Katy, Audrey, Audra and Erin
Me and my amazing soon-to-be husband! (5 months and 4 days in counting)

Cold Weather, Yeah Sort Of. .

So it's December in Texas which means that our temperature drops and it gets cold from time to time. The past few days are a representation of just that. Yesterday started out very pleasantly, it was cool and a bit breezy. But by the time it was time to go home from work, the temperature dropped to what the car thermometer called( ICE ). It was like 28 degrees out there and it didn't get any better this morning. So I hope you have a very warm coat with you today.

In other news, I was reading 2 Corinthians the other morning and came upon a verse that I come across from time to time. (So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (II Cor.4:16-18)).

This verse always reminds me to not try and rely on what's in front of me or what I, myself can see, but to leave everything to God and know in my heart that only through Him can we truly be satisfied. I notice from time to time when my personal relationship with God is not right, that aspects of my life seem to take a hit, or suffer. But where and when you least expect it, God uses anyone or anything to bring you back to Him.

I am blessed to have Kristen to share my praises and my struggles with. I can not wait to spend my life with her by my side. May 16th can not be here soon enough!

Sweet Tea, Christmas Stockings& More

My name is Sebastian and I am addicted to Sweet Tea!! Yes, it's true. I drink sweet tea morning and night. I think it runs through my veins now. I can't help it, it's so good! Especially McAlister's Sweet Tea, shout out, whoo whoo!! Their tea is so good though and I'm not even kidding. It's what they are famous for. You should check it out and see, I mean, taste for yourself. I heard somewhere that Sweet Tea makes you smarter too. . just sayin. . . .So to all my secret Santa's this would be an awesome gift. .

Kristen and I are going to go pick out our stockings for Christmas this week and I want to find a cool one. Maybe one with like an elf on it or something. Anyways, we have started a tradition that we will surprise each other with gifts to fit in our stockings, so of course the stocking has to be able to hold like 150lbs worth of stuff and be like 4 feet tall. Just sayin.....I got a few ideas up my sleeve that I think she's really going to enjoy. She'll just have to wait and see. . .

So, I think Christmas is around the corner. At least that's what I hear. With the season comes, of course, the Christmas parties. So here are a few things I think are essential to not make a fool out of yourself at your Christmas party, so by all means DO NOT:

1. Dance on anything other than the floor
2. Sit on Santa's(AKA, that weird guy from IT)lap, yeah, not good
3. Shovel shrimp from the buffet to your plate like it's your last meal, unless it's jumbo shrimp
4. Drink too much Eggnog and share how you REALLY feel about everyone

Also, along with these awesome tips I thought I would let you in on a game I enjoy playing this time of year:

Yes, I know, it's awesome!! Enjoy and peace out for now!!

Christmas is finally here!

At last the Christmas season has arrived!! I absolutely love Christmas and everything about it. I thought this picture was really cute so I thought I would share. (The cats are actually supposed to be dancing in the picture but I can't get it to work for me).

My favorite things about the Christmas season in no particular order:
  • Chocolate covered pretzel x-mas trees that you buy at one of those keyosk in the mall
  • All the Chirstmas Carols
  • Grapevine Parade of Lights
  • Gingerbread
  • Buying gifts for family and friends and seeing their face light up when they open them
  • Decorating the house
  • Time off from work (that's a given)
  • Christmas movies (Christmas Vacation, Home Alone 1&2, Elf, A Christmas Story)
  • A new tradition we started last year, going to church with our family on Christmas Eve night

Jumping on the band wagon...

Well it's official I have jumped on the Twilight band wagon. I absolutely love this book! Everyone at work has been reading it for months now, I really didn't have the want to start. I never have any time to just read becuase I'm always so busy with either work or planning the wedding. So when the movie came out last Friday I thought I would go see it to see what all the infatuation was about. Much to my surprise I came out of the movie wanting to go straight to Barnes and Noble to buy the second edition called New Moon. All day Sunday I couldn't put it down. I get to work on Monday and of course everyone is discussing the movie, how they thought it wasnt't as good as the book. I mentioned that I started reading New Moon, the second book, and they all thought I should've read the first book first. My thinking was that the book is probably just like the movie so it would be boring now that I have seen the movie. But to all of our back and forth bickering they all insisted that I must read the first Twilight book. So my friend Christy brought in the first edition for me to read this morning. And I must say I read the first few pages and realized (I hate to admit) they were right! I can already tell it's so going to be so much better than the movie, it's has so much more detail.

Anyone out there that hasn't jumped on this band wagon now's the time!! You won't regret it.

Oooh Sensei, You So Smart. . .

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, and Today is a gift, that's why they call it a Present.

Just thought I'd throw this out there and get your thoughts. Enjoy each day to the fullest and don't worry about the past or the future, live for today, like my babe always says!!

I found "The One"..!!!

What a day all of us girls had on Saturday. It was a fun-filled day of wedding dress shopping. We all headed out around 10am. I started the day off with really bad allergies so I ended up having to carry around a Kleenex box the entire day, oh what fun that was. Not to mention I looked like Rudolph in a wedding dress the entire day. All in all it was a fantastic day, my best friend Lesley was there every step of the way with me hauling each dress up and over me each time I wanted to try on something new. I love her so much she is like a sister to me. Also, my real-life sister of 5 years Jennifer came with us, she had a lot of great ideas for me and kept my mom at bay when she didn't like certain dresses I would try on. I'm so glad that Jennifer's and my relationship has grown more and more. I'm looking very forward to my children having an Aunt one day. My cousin Danielle is awesome, she tried on and modeled all the different bridesmaid dresses for us to look at. She is so dang skinny, I was jealous! She looked great in everything she tried on. Meagan one of my dearest and oldest friends from high school also joined us. Meagan and I have been disconnected ever since high school but recently just got back in touch and have been talking and getting together ever since. And man I’m glad we did, I forgot how much fun we have together. We could definitely tell you some stories from our younger days. Audra is a wonderful friend that Sebastian and I met at church a few months back. Her and her husband recently got married in October, October 11th to be exact (the day Texas beat the crud out of OU). From the day we met them we knew we had made a special connection for a lasting friendship.

Well after we left the first store we decided it was time to take a break for lunch, so we went to Red Robin. It was great! Meagan introduced us all to a very interesting drink called“blueberry pomegranate limeade”. I’m really mad now that I didn’t get one. After lunch, we went to our next appointment, and at this place we hit a gold mine. They had all the types of dresses that I loved and the bridesmaid’s dresses were so cute. I ended up finding “the one” here.

I can’t wait for May 16th, 2009 to hurry up and get here. As each day goes by I’m getting more and more excited. Thanks to all my girls for making this day so special for me. It was wonderful!!

At this point we were worn out and tired of looking at anything white.
Top Row: Jennifer and Me
Bottom Row: Lesley, Danielle, Meagan and Audra

Here's kind of what the "blueberry pomegranate limeade" looked like! Doesn't it make your mouth water????

Two Weeks? Fooo Real? That's Crazy!

So, just realized that there has not been a new post since like two weeks ago. We're still here so don't worry. Our new puppy is getting his training down and we think he's pretty smart. Well at least as smart as a dog can be. He is so chill too it's amazing. Most puppies would be extra hyper all the time but Major seems to like it chill and relaxing. Which is fine with us!!

It's Kristen's dad's birthday this weekend so we are on track to celebrate that on Saturday, but that is TBD due to the ou-tech game that night. Texas has a lot riding on this game and this will be the one rare occasion where Longhorn fans will root for the little sooners to win. I know, that's crazy!! The whole BCS thing is so complicated that not even a P.H.D can figure it out!! So we won't get into that.

Next week is Thanksgiving already, where has this year gone?? Pretty soon it will be Christmas and the year will be over. Although, this year we have some great things to be thankful for. For one, our relationship has grown stronger as we both accepted Christ into our lives and were baptized a few months ago. Earlier in the year, in March, Kristen and I got engaged and we are now in the process of planning our wedding!! It is almost here!!! It's been an exciting year and we are looking forward to spending the holidays with our families.

Well this is it for right now, stay tuned because holiday posts are coming and those should be fun!!

Another great weekend

This past weekend was great! It was full of relaxing and tons of leftover Halloween candy. We started the weekend off by giving Major his first real bath at our place and let’s just say it wasn’t something he’s ready to do again anytime soon. He acted like it was the most painful thing he’d ever been through. I do have to say he has been doing a great job adjusting to 2 different homes. Sebastian and I keep him during the weekdays my mom on the weekends. He loves it at her house because of the huge backyard. My niece treats him like her little baby, it’s so precious.

On Saturday we ran errands and got ready for the Texas vs. Tech game which we will not bring up. I’m still very bitter about the final outcome. Sebastian and I went to the famous Texadelphia for lunch which brought back so many memories. He used to work there many years ago and I remember him always bringing us dinner after his shift was over. The taste of their unique mustard blend literally brought back years of memories. It’s weird how that happens, like when you smell a certain scent and you remember someone or something special because of it. We absolutely love this place. If you've never tried it then you’re missing out.

Sunday was also great! We had our annual fall festival that my work sponsors at Circle R Ranch. This was my first time to go. My sister now works at Gaylord so she brought my niece and nephew and all of us had a wonderful time. When we got there they had all you can eat barbeque which was really good. Then we went outside where they had games, face painting and a petting zoo. The kids ended up waiting in an hour long-line just to get their face painted. But in the end it was completely worth it, the artists did an awesome job.

Cortheye the butterfly and Cylas the tiger.

I wanted to see if I would have more fun once I put this wig on, and to my surprise I didn't. To all brunettes out there it's just a myth!!!

So that sums it up for now, more to come next week......!

Good To Meet You Mr. President

So, unless you live under a rock or on another planet, you know from last night that we have elected, as a country a new President. Living in Texas, as many of you know, leaves little to the imagination when it comes to any election. As it has been for decades, Texas voted Republican and awarded it's electoral votes to John McCain. That does not bother me at all as this was the expected result. I think what bothers me is the fact that once a particular candidate was not elected, there was an uproar about the winner's character, intelligence, morals and way of life. I'm just going to make one point and that is that God chose this candidate to be our President for the next four years before any of us went and cast our ballot. It is in his plan to have this man lead us for the next four years. Many may not agree with it and may disapprove of every decision that is made while he is in office, but he is our President now.

I am glad that the issue of race and gender is finally out the window and that the world can see our country as truly diverse and see us as acceptant people. We have finally caught up with the rest of the world on this issue. Politics is always such a trigger subject for many people. But more so when something does not go along with what they think or believe in. Now is the time for acceptance of the cards that God has dealt our country and work hand in hand with our neighbors, friends and strangers to get America back to prosperity in values, morals and common sense.

Millions of people went out and cast a ballot for the first time yesterday and that is historic. God put it in every voters' heart to go out and have their voices heard. While the country will always be split between red and blue, my only hope is that our country will never be split when it comes to truths that are endowed by our Creator;our unalienable rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Meet Major..

My last blog was about me wanting to adopt a Dalmatian from the North Texas Dalamatian Rescue Society. I had every intention to do this once we returned from Austin this past Sunday. But on Saturday while we were in Austin walking up and down the streets of Congress a huge sign caught my eye, which read "Austin Pets Alive". So of course my love and passion for animals got the best of me and had to check it out. As I'm walking up to one the cages there was this little black and white spotted puppy looking right up at me. It was like he was telling me with his eyes to pick him up. So of course I went ahead and picked him up and well the rest is history. The next thing I knew I was filling out adoption papers to take hime home. This organization called Austin Pets Alive is a group of people that go around to all the shelters in the local area and picks up all the puppies that are about to be put down because no one wants them. They neuter, micro-chip and give them all their shots in hopes that someone will give them a home. I'm so happy that there are people out there that have huge hearts for animals to do something like this.

Major is wonderful and were convinced that he is the smartest dog ever. He sleeps through the night and doesn't go to the bathroom in his crate. What more could we ask for! In a couple of months were planning to start puppy training classes and when he reaches five months he might start going to doggy day camp once a week. We're so happy we were able to save him.

The first moment we saw him!

Major cleaned up and on the road back to Dallas

To Austin & Back

So we are back from being in Austin this past weekend and it was awesome! Any time we are there it is great. So we left on Friday and arrived that afternoon and our first stop was Guadalupe St. We made our way to the Co-Op and got us some t-shirts and made fun of some mizzou fans that were in there for some reason. After manuvering through the crowds of people we made our way back to our car. For dinner we wanted to try something new so we went over to Threadgills on Congress. Kristen suggested it and I am glad that she did because it was good! There I had the awesome jalapeno cornbread! Dinner was awesome as it was home cookin' as we call it here in Texas.

Saturday morning we made our way out to the Tower on the UT campus because that is where ESPN Gameday was going to be broadcasting. It was pretty wild and fun. We made our way towards the middle of the pack and had a pretty good view of the stage and the big bass drum that was behind us! There were a lot of signs as expected and some were pretty funny. Pictures to come soon. We also got some mini Chick Fil A cows. I'm a big fan of the chikfila so this was cool. We were getting pretty hungry so we made our way to our spot for breakfast when we are in Austin, Austin Java. We had to go all out so we got the French Toast, Pancakes, and Tacos! It was so good!!

By this time our friends Brett & Audra had made it to Austin to meet up with us. So we all headed back down to Guadalupe to show them around. After some time in the Co-Op we decided to go check out the Gameday site again. We got there and noticed a small crowd forming so we headed over there. We got there and we realized that overrated Kirk Herbstreit was signing autographs and talking to the fans, but then Kristen saw that Lee Corso was just hanging out to our right so we headed over there. And we must say he is as crazy cool off camera as he is on camera. He had an entourage of one State Tropper that looked like he came out of Chips.

We made our way down to Homeslice pizza for lunch after this and it was awesome as always. Brett & Audra really enjoyed it as well. It was so cool to show them around and take them to some of our favorite spots in ATX. On the way to Homeslice we walked by some puppies that were up for adoption. Little did we know that we would find the most awesome puppy ever, so we adopted it and saved his life. Kristen has such a huge heart for animals and it didn't hurt that the puppy was cool! We found out that it was a Border Collie/Retreiver mix. It is white with black spots and it's such a cool little dog! We named him Major to represent the best QB in Longhorn history, Major Applewhite!

So Saturday night was supposed to be the big showdown in A-Town. But I think someone forgot to tell mizzou about it because they didn't show up. It looked like they were on the sidelines but they may have been imposters! After half time the score was 35-3 Texas. It was pretty much a blow out from the get go which is a good thing and it solidifies how good the Horns are! Final score 56-31 Texas. So this was our weekend, full of great food, friends and fun! Can't wait to make it back down. Later for now!

Austin Here We Come......

Well it's Thursday and that means only one more day until we meet our good friends in Austin! This getaway for Sebastian and myself is much needed! We are hitting the road around noon tomorrow with hopes of beating the Austin rush hour traffic. I'm not sure where we are going to eat dinner but I'm sure it'll be awesome wherever we choose. I'm kind of thinking barbeque or the famous Homeslice. On Saturday morning we will wake-up early and eat at our favorite breakfast spot on Congress called Austin Java. Then we will head over to College Gameday in front of the University Tower. It's going to madness in Austin this weekend, this game against Missouri is going to be just as nerve wracking as the OU game was. We can't wait for kick-off at 7pm, we will be covered in orange and white and ready to yell.

We will leave on Sunday with hopes of getting back a little early. The North Texas Dalmatian Rescue Society contacted me stating they have a one year old Dalmatian ready for a new home. As some of you may know Freckles my Dalmatian that I had since I was ten passed away earlier this year. It has been hard and there are still days we just cry missing her. The backyard at my mom's house seems very empty without her. We want to adopt another precious girl in Freckle's honor. We don't know a lot about her yet, but hope to learn more soon. This little one will have to stay at my mom's house but as soon as Sebastian and I buy our first home we will definitely have a backyard with 1 or 2 of them running around.

Here are some fun pictures from last Friday at my work outing at Circle R Ranch:

Birthdays, Longhorns and More

Ok so it's Tuesday I think, and we had a very eventful week and weekend. So last Wednesday was my birthday so now I am 26. Being one step closer to 30 feels weird. So for my birthday Kristen got me Guitar Hero:Aerosmith!! It is awesome! Get to rock out like Joe Perry!! I did realize that after playing non stop for long periods of time that your shoulder and your hands get sore, but it was worth it!! On Wednesday night Kristen invited me to go out and celebrate so I was excited and to not ruin the surprise of where we were going I rode blindfolded. When we got to the destination I was extrememly surprised and excited, it was Red Hot & Blue!! That place is awesome!!! So we walk in and little did I know, Kristen had planned for our families to be there when we showed up! I didn't expect them to be there so it was a very good surprise!! It was an awesome time!! I once again had the pulled pork cheeseburger. I couldn't pass it up, it's so good!!!

Friday evening we had an invitation to an event at Circle R Ranch for Kristen's work. It was a great time and it was all Free Free Free!! I think we tried every dish that they served. The ribs, the quesadillas, the steak tacos, shrimp poppers, chicken wings and chips and queso. It was all really good. They also had live music and then a dj towards the end of the night. We had a great time!!!

Saturday and Sunday we continued to celebrate my birthday and a Longhorn win over the sooners. What a game!! It was back and forth till the end when the Horns finally put it out of reach and won the game. This win shot them all the way up the polls to a #1 ranking!!! Hook Em'!!

That evening after church we all went out to Patrizio's in Highland Village for some dinner. Friends from our small groups were all there and it was a really awesome time! We finally tried the pepperoni bread and it was better than advertised. Then one of the waiters was a ou fan so we had to give him a hard time all night about the Longhorns win!! Sunday we celebrated over at her mom's house with our families. Kristen made this awesome layer dip that was gone before I could get a second helping! We all had cake and watched the Cowboys lose to Arizona. I'm not a fan so it was pretty funny to watch.

All in all this was an awesome birthday!! Great food, great times!!! Thanks babe! I guess turning 26 isn't that bad after all! Pictures to come soon . . . .

Coming Up Next On Kristen & Sebastian:

Extra, Extra, read all about it! Always wanted to say that but never had the chance. So let's see, we last posted a blog on the last day of September which would be like six days ago. So it's now October and that can only mean one thing, someone is turning one year older. Yeah, you guessed it, it's me. So this week is my birthday week. Ok,so my birthday is only one day but we've got things going on all week so I am taking the week. Action packed days coming up with a surprise b-day outing with Kristen on Wednesday. She won't tell me where we are going so I will have to wait and see. I like surprises! I truly am blessed to be able to share my life with her! Then on Friday we were invited to a party @ Circle R Ranch so free food here I come! It should be a lot of fun. There will be music, free food, more music and more free food!!

Then Saturday morning will be one of the great traditions of my birthday week. The annual, Red River Shootout! They changed it to RR Rivalry but I like Shootout better! Texas and then some crappy school from that one state that is north of us will play at the Cotton Bowl for all the braggin' rights that come with being separated by a river that is red. I predict Texas will win this one just because they are the better team no matter what the rankings say. Really, who plays Tenessee Chattanooga? At least we played UTEP. Hook Em' Horns!!!

Then that night, after the Longhorns win we are heading out to dinner and then bowling with friends for my birthday outing. I haven't bowled in forever so I expect to be in top form and bowl a whopping 250 minimum. I wish. Then Sunday we are going out with the familias but not sure where yet. Next week we are heading down to ATX or Austin Texas for those who don't speak letter. We will be down there for the Tx-Mizzou game and it should be a lot of fun. We are meeting up with Brett & Audra and we are their tour guides for that weekend. We can't wait to go, it's always such a great time in Austin and that just happens to be where I proposed to Kristen so it's awesomeness all around! So cheer on them Horns this weekend and if you run into any sooners just tell them this:

Been listening to a Jeremy Camp song lately and some lyrics jumped out at me. (So I will walk by faith, even when I can not see, well because this broken road, prepares your will for me). Powerful words I must say. No matter what we are going through, how hard life may seem or whatever trial we may be dealt, it's all in God's plan for us. Even when we don't see it in the "Now", He will let us see it when we are ready.

Last Week, This Week, Next Week

So it's been a week since the last post so here we go, well not really but here it is. So this past week has been eventful. Let's see, our softball season started a couple of weeks ago and we are playing on Tuesday nights. So far we are 1-1 and we have another game tonight and I hope that we can win. I used to play on Friday nights, but I must say I enjoy Tuesday better now.

We had small group on Friday evening and it was great. We got a chance to open up about the book we are studying and get insight from everyone's perspective. On Saturday the Longhorns beat, I mean really beat down the Razorbacks on their last tune up game before conference play. This weekend it's Colorado and I look for them to be 1-0 in Big XII play.

I've been on this kick on trying to find a Super Nintendo. I've just been wanting to play Super Mario World for some reason. I used to play that game all the time and now I am on the lookout to finding one. So if you know where I can get one, let me know. I am jamming to some Ray Charles right now and am playing my keyboard like a piano. His music just does that.

I finally tried one of Kristen's awesome Egg McMuffins. I must say this is my new favorite McMuffin. I could have this breakfast, lunch and dinner!! Next week is my birthday, I don't like getting older. But with birthdays come cake!! I like cake!! A lot!! Kristen won't tell me what kind of cake, but I know it will be good!! Well this is what's been going on, more updates to come soon or sooner than later. Hook Em' Horns!!

Who Are You?

Who are you? What defines you? Those were questions asked to us by PKE or Pastor Kevin Evans last night @ The Path. He also asked, "What makes you significant?" These were awesome questions that can have a never ending list of answers like where you are from or what you do or even your hobbies, but what he really wanted us to do was look in our hearts and really find what makes us significant, what we truly value.

It's not our stuff that makes us who we are. It's not our friends who makes us what we are. It's not society that tells who who we are. It's God. The great thing that I have learned the past year or so of my life is that the moment I put my full trust in Jesus I found who I was. I realized that my stuff or other people's perception of me was not my identity. Our society has sadly put their trust in things that can be lost. A job, a friend, finances, appearance, etc. All of these things can be taken away from us, but the love of God can never be changed, altered or taken from us.

To know that we are in Christ through anything, makes you stronger than you've ever been. There can never be a situation that will defeat us because He chose us to be more than conquerors. He made Christ, for us to be righteous in. So don't let your stuff define you. Don't let others give you your identity. Take hold of the identity God gives you. He is always there, he never let's go.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, your perfect love is casting out fear. Even when I'm caught in the middle of the storms of this life, I won't turn back, I know you are near. I will fear no evil, for my God is with me, and if my God is with me, whom them shall I fear? (You Never Let Go)

It's Not By Chance

Faith is something lots of people say they have but few people actually have. Up until the last year I really did not know what Faith was. I knew of it, but didn't know it personally. Hebrews 11:1 puts it pretty clearly to us: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. That sums it up for me because we have to be sure in our heart of things that we are hopeful for and we must be certain of the unseen. God uses us for many things but I think he uses us and those around us mainly for the reassurance of our Faith.

Kristen and I were having a conversastion about this topic and we just kept bringing up instances where God was giving us signs to be the reassurance to someone's Faith. If you ever notice something that you didn't before in people and you feel like something is not right, it's not by chance. It is God telling you to open your eyes and ears and listen to what he is saying because you may be someone's last string of hope. We have been truly blessed to have had people like this in our lives, and we now get the opportunity to be these people to others. Knowing that you've helped someone heal a wound or brighten their day is an amazing feeling.

Have you been conscious of others around you or are you trapped in your own bubble separated from the world? The Lord is near to all who call on Him(Psalm 145:18), who will you call on today?

Cake Tasting & Stuff To Think About

So today Kristen and I have a cake tasting for our wedding! You know what that means? Free great tasting cakes!! Yes I said free! How can anyone go wrong with free cake? I am really excited about trying cakes because let's face it, cake is awesome! Chocolate is my favorite but I am open to other flavors as well. And don't get me started on fillings. So many combinations to think of!! We are heading out to a bakery, that will remain nameless until a decision has been made, after work and are getting our paletes ready for some frosting and fillings.

All this got me thinking of that Friends episode where Chandler and Rachel are eating cheesecake off the floor and Joey comes up, pulls a fork out of his jacket and starts eating. Now that is a man that is prepared for the unexpected. So I think: should I carry a fork with me for times like this? I mean, would it be weird if I pulled out my own fork at the bakery to eat cake? More details to come later.

So, I was reading the Book of Job this morning and a couple of things stuck out at me that got me thinking, I know, scary. The first is the fact that God puts trials in our lives as a test of our Faith in Him. How we respond to these trials sets us up for the next stage in our lives. So when you come to a fork in the road always choose to side with God because as I've read in the Bible those who don't side with Him don't have a happy ending.

Another thing that stuck out to me, is that in time of suffering or need, we all have people in our lives that give us counsel for the sake of giving counsel. They don't think about what they say, they just say it, just as in Job's situation. He was in despair and his friends just spoke to him for the sake of speaking. No real insight into what they said and no real Godly advice. What kind of person are you? The kind that just speaks to be heard or the one that seeks God's counsel before giving advice. Sadly for Job neither of his friends were seeking God and their perspective on his situation just frustrated him.

These passages just got me thinking about the type of person I want to be. In times of struggle and in times of pain I want to be able to be God's vessel in the form of words and actions to comfort my soon to be wife, family and friends. Only God knows the reasons why we are faced with challenges in our lives. We should not question the intentions and we should just learn from any trial that we come across. Through any struggle we must trust in God and never lose Faith because in the end we will prevail by His Grace!

Enjoying Your Season

So, what season are you in and are you taking the time to enjoy it? This was a question asked to us last night @ The Path. John Stickl led the conversation last night and the topic was really good. To break it down to the core, he was asking us to consider where we are in our lives and to stop and enjoy it. Don't be in a hurry because you may miss things that you will regret later in life. We felt this message was very powerful and that everyone should adapt it. Slow down, enjoy your life and don't miss out because you are in a hurry.

Our weekend was awesome. Aside from the worries of high winds and flooding that the hurricane would have caused the weekend was smooth. Friday night we met with our small group and discussed the first two chapters in our book, Questions of Life. Saturday was the supposed to be the storm of the decade but God was merciful and the majority of the damage was minimum and the hurricane quickly turned into a storm. Up here in the DFW area we got rain and not much else so we were blessed by that. We decided to go to church on Sunday morning and we must say the worship songs were awesome and the message from Kevin was awesome as well.

Sunday evening we went to The Path and had a great time as well and we found out that Red Robin gives 20% off meals on Sunday evenings for being part of this Ministry. Pretty darn cool if you ask me. Their burgers are good because you can pretty much build them yourself so you get something that you will enjoy. And their fries are awesome. Speaking of fries we had lunch @ RHB (Red Hot & Blue) and their fries are amazing. I don't know what type of seasoning they use but it's good!! Later for now and remember to slow down and enjoy each moment that God gives us because each moment can be a valuable lesson for our lives.

I'm The BABY Gotta Love Me!!

Does anyone remember the old television show called Dinosaurs..?? After lunch the other day I was sitting out on a bench with some friends from work and my friend Courtney made the comment that the side of our hotel looked like the cage of a dinosaur bird out of the movie Jurassic Park part 2. Well the dinosaur talk made me start thinking about the ancient old television show called Dinosaurs. So I decided to do some research. The pilot episode made it's debut on April 26, 1991 which only continued on air for another 3 years. I was never allowed to watch this show becuase of all the adult commentary so when I did watch it was over at a friend's house.

The Dinosaur family also known as the Sinclair family was a satirical parody of human society. They would act is if they were humans with human problems. This was definitely a show geared towards adults.

I remember my childhood best friend Kellie had the baby dinosaur and when you pulled the string in it's back it would yell, "Not the mama!" I loved the part when baby Sinclair would always hit Earl over the head with a frying pan and again yell, "Not the mama!"

It was a good show when I was 7, not sure if I would enjoy it as much now.

Some Stuff

So it's Friday and that means, well that means we don't have to go to work tomorrow. Always the highlight of the week. Let's see what's in store for us this weekend. Tonight we don't have plans and that is awesome. A night of relaxing is always a nice change of pace. Tomorrow we have a few errands to run and then we go to church in the evening and then after that we are going out with Brett & Audra. Oh did I mention that Texas plays UTEP tomorrow night. Since the game is in El Paso kickoff won't be till 9:15pm. I think El Paso is in like the Western or Mountain Time Zone which totally throws everything out of wack. I predict Texas winning by at least 6 touchdowns.

Speaking of football, What do you call a Hispanic Quarterback?. . . . . . . Answer below...

Sunday night is the first meeting of the Path at our church. We are excited about this because this ministry is centered around and was started for our age group. Our friend Ben will be leading this ministry and we are really looking forward to it. On another note, Kristen made this awesome Home-made Egg McMuffin last night and it looked awesome! I didn't have one but I will tomorrow morning! Is it weird that even though it's called an English Muffin we still call it McMuffin even when we make it at home? Just throwing that out there.

Had lunch with my brother yesterday and it was great. We haven't got together to catch up in a long time and it was nice to do so. I hope that he'll be able to come join us on some weekends if he is able to get those days off from work. Well weekend here we come and you better be ready or something. Peace!

Our Amazing Weekend!!

So if you've been keeping up with what we've been up to then you know that this past weekend Kristen and I were baptized at our church. It was an amazing experience and we were so happy to have our families and friends there to witness our devotion to God.

On Friday we had small group and we had a great turn out from our Connect Weekend table. 5 new people decided to come check out the group and jump on board. We spent the evening getting to know them and telling them a bit about us. It was our turn to bring dessert so Kristen and I decided to make Cheesecakes and Brownies! We must say, they were awesome and they were a hit!! Everyone really enjoyed them as did my stomach!! Kristen's cheesecake is amazing!!

Saturday, like I mentioned above was our baptism day and it was also the start of college football. Texas won and every other game didn't matter. So we were told to be at the church about 5 o clock on Saturday afternoon so that we had plenty of time to get ready and stuff. So we are hanging out in the atrium and then Jeff shows up and tells us to follow him so that we can go get our robes and get set up. So while we were doing that, our families just hung out at the cafe and waited for everything to get going. Kristen went first and I got to watch from the steps and to witness that was such an amazing sight!! To think that we both got baptized on the same night was so great! God has had such an amazing impact on our lives and this was our way to give Him His Glory!!! This is us and then us with Jeff Haley.

Bridal Dress Shopping Gone Bad (very bad)

Well I've taken the plunge and jumped right into the world of bridal gown shopping. Wow, I had no idea there were so many different styles to choose from. So this past Saturday my mom and I went to our first bridal store in Dallas. You're probably thinking this would be the most exciting day ever, right? Well, wrong!

As we were scoping out the racks with all the bridal dresses I felt this weird sensation on my knee. I didn't think anything of it. I was wearing jeans at the time so I couldn't really see my knee. The only way I can describe this sensation was that it felt like a candy wrapper had fallen through a whole in my pocket and made it's way down to my knee. So as it started bothering more and more I tried pushing the "wrapper" with my hands outside of my jeans to get it to fall out the bottom. While doing this my mom keeps joking with me that it's probably a bug. I told her "yeah whatever" there's no way because I'm wearing jeans. Well I was WRONG, very WRONG! I never saw a "wrapper" come out from the bottom of my jeans but what did fall out was a completely smashed huge dead cricket. I'm not just talking a baby cricket, this thing was the mother ship of all crickets. I thought I was going to pass out right in the middle of the store. All I could keep saying over and over to my mom was to find a bathroom. By this time my face was beat red and I started feeling nauseous. I ran to the bathroom and tore off my jeans and took all the paper towels off the roll and drenched them in hot water with that play like liquid soap they put in all public bathrooms. I scrubbed and scrubbed my knee off then had to do the same to the inside of my jeans. I won't give you any details but all I can say is that it was GROSS! So I ended up having to turn my jeans inside out and wear them back out into this store. By this time everyone in the whole store was looking at me like I was some kind of freak. In the end I figured out what had happened. As I was walking into the store the cricket must have jumped into the bottom of my pant leg and what I was feeling that felt like a "wrapper" was this thing jumping around trying to find his way out. Then since I thought his jumping around was a wrapper I ended up smashing it on my own knee.

I'm here to say that I made it through alive and well. But I'm honestly scarred at looking for bridal dresses. I still can't even look at bridal gowns in magazines without thinking about this whole incident. So if I show up to my wedding wearing a business suit you'll know why, it's because I couldn't get over this incident.

We're Getting Baptized!!

So this Saturday, August 30, 2008, Kristen and I are going to be Baptized! Not at the same time but right after one another. This is such an exciting time for the both of us to profess our love for Christ and share it with our family and friends. Growing up Catholic you are baptized as a baby and that's that. No real relationship with God, no choice to do so. So now, both Kristen and I have made our choice to shout our battle cry for Jesus and take the Biblical plunge. I think Ephesians 2:8-10 says it best:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We have been saved by His grace and by His love and we are NEW Creations in Him!!

Weird things I am thinking about Baptism:
1. That I will forget what to say
2. Will water get in my nose?
3. Will the water be cold?
4. America's Funniest Video of that kid doing a cannon ball into the baptismal

Take Me Out To The Ballgame. . Ok We Will...

So this weekend was eventful. No really it was. Let's see(cracking of knuckles inserted here). . .
Ok so on Friday we had our Small Group over at the Seedorf's casa and we had fellowship and dessert and we will be starting our book study in a couple of weeks, so we are excited about that.
Saturday was what the French like to call, relaxing or something like that. We hung out over at Kristen's mom's house and did a whole lot of lazy relaxing. Saturday night is our church night and this past service we had a guest speaker that survived the 9/11 attacks. His message was powerful to say the least.

Sunday was again very relaxing throughout the morning and in the evening we had tickets to the Frisco Rough Rider baseball game(thanks to Kristen volunteering for the Make A Wish Foundation) to which some of our small group peeps came out to. Below is a picture of Kristen and I watching the game, well not while we were taking this picture but before and after this we were. The weather was awesome as were the hot dogs. Oh and we also had a staple of baseball games, David's sunflower seeds. We had forgotten how great these were!! Anyways, we all had a great time and we even got T-Shirts for Kid's Night Out!

Kristen & I Just Chillin' and then Justin, Angie, Erin, Trip and the
little ones Jaxsen and Drew

Audra & Kohan

Yesterday we had dinner over at Jeff & Marianne Haley's house. We had asked them if they would do our Marriage Counseling and they gladly accepted so they invited us over so we could build on our relationship with them. It was a life changing evening of fellowship with both of them and Kristen and I both had an amazing time.

Today we met with Matt who is the Student Ministry Pastor at our Church about helping with the Student Ministry in the Fall. He laid out what his plan was for the students and we do have to say that his vision is amazing and the students that attend are going to benefit so much from all the hard work that he along with others have put into this ministry. So as you can see we have been busy for a bit now and watching the Olympics every night till late does not help us not be tired the next day. So right now as soon as I finish this, I am setting myself on the couch and not getting up for a while. Yeah, that's right, lazy time once again!! It's the best! Arivederci' or something like that that means later.. . so later. .

I'm Still Here!

Yes, I'm still here alive and well. I haven't posted in awhile. Sebastian is so good at blogging that I sometimes forget to get on myself and post. We are both getting over these terrible sinus infections. It has been the pits. Wedding plans are going well, right now we are in the midst of trying to find a photographer. We need to get some pictures taken so that we can start mailing out our save-the-date magnets. As each month passes I get more and more excited about the big day! I can't wait to begin our life together as husband and wife.

I have a new interest called "hot yoga" and it's just that, hot! I went a couple of weeks ago with some friends to try it out. I was so scared that I was going to pass out from the heat but I ended up doing a lot better than I thought. This type of yoga really plays tricks with your mind, so you can't let it get the best of you. I hope when Sebastian and I start feeling better that he will try it with me.

Things that have been on my mind lately:
- Starting 3 school classes in the fall and not knowing how I'm going to get through it.
- Why do sinus infections have to linger so long?
- Why our cat Moo-Moo has to feel the need to unravel the toilet paper off the role everynight?
- Why does chocolate have to taste so good?

Not Feeling Well? No We Are Not

Well for the last week we have been under the weather, sick as a dog, whatever analogy you want to say, we were it. It all started with what's called germs. Yeah, I caught some germs and it turned into Sinusitis, or a Sinus Infection and then Kristen caught it from me as she was taking care of me. So now we both have it and it's not fun! I researched WebMD (Kristen loves to diagnose symptoms and she checks it out on WebMD to see if she was right. She's right a lot about symptoms!) to see what this was all about and here is what is says:

Symptoms of sinusitis can include fever, weakness, tiredness, a cough that may be more severe at night, and runny nose or nasal congestion. In addition, drainage of mucus from the sphenoids (or other sinuses) down the back of the throat (postnasal drip) can cause a sore throat and can irritate the membranes lining the larynx (upper windpipe).

Yeah, we have all of these!! And the best part of it is. . . .that nothing works to get rid of it! Not prescriptions, over the counter or any type of medicine seems to help. Needless to say we are tired of being sick and can't wait to get over this virus thing called Sinusitis.

On a brighter note the new york stankees are 9 games out of 1st Place in the AL East! We have been watching the Olympics everyday and we have been at the edge of our seats when the swimming competitions are on. The other day we watched the Men's 4x100 Relay in which the USA edged out France for the Gold Medal. It was an awesome swim! Oui Oui!! Mocking the French there. Au Revoir for now.

What's Been Going On? I Don't Know, Why Don't You Tell Us. ..

So we are trying to get better at this posting everyday thing on our blog. So far, it's been once a week but we feel like that's been pretty good. So let's see, it's Tuesday today and it's hot. I mean HOT!!! It's been over 100 degrees for like six months it feels like. There is a possible hurricane forming in the Gulf of Mexico that will bring cooler temperatures here pretty soon, but we hope that nobody is hurt as that makes landfall.

This past weekend Kristen and I got together with our small group on Friday and had a great time. We had fellowship, cookies and Wii. We all got together and decided what our first book study would be so that was good. Then we ate cookies and played Mario Kart on the Wii. It was a lot more complicated than it used to be on the Super Nintendo back in the day, but it sure was fun!!

Church on Saturday was a wake up call for us,well I think for the entire congregation. The new message was A Cause Worth Everything. It was about being generous to things that we truly are passionate for. It was a challenge from Kevin to all of us to step up and put all of our Faith in God, our one and only provider. Although it's hard at times to hear that you are wrong in a sense, it's good to know that there's people that will slap you in your face per say when needed.

I was looking at my Chick Fil A calendar and noticed that this month there are three cows dressed up like the 3 Amigos playing Mariachi music. It's pretty funny. I am anxiously waiting for our new Netflix movie because it is Season 1 of Get Smart from the 60's. I used to watch this show on Nick @ Nite all the time and I wanted Kristen to watch it to see if she will like it.

Peede pi pi peede pi pi, That's all folks. (Porky Pig reference there)

Stuff In No Particular Order

Kristen and I both like to watch the Food Network and we had been watching the Next Food Network Star. It ended this weekend and we were just puzzled at the winner of the show. It doesn't affect us personally, but we were just confused. Anyways, summer is still here and that means that here in Texas we get the 102 degree days all through August. It's a lot more fun than it sounds, really. I mean who wouldn't want to walk out their door and immediately start sweating and have their flip flops melt to their feet?

Lost is still on hiatus so I think I may rewatch some episodes to get my fix. I've been on this soccer thing for a little while now since I saw the Man U/Chelsea Premiere League Final a while back. That was one heck of a game. Went to penalty kicks. I also watched the Euro 2008 tourney last month in which Spain took the title and I believe they celebrated with paella and a running of the bulls. I don't know, it's what I heard. But I have been playing our FIFA 07 PS2 game lately and had forgotten how cool it was, so I'm playing it now.

About to start reading a new book for our small group study. It's called Sacred Marriage. Both Kristen and I are going to tackle this one together and are looking forward to getting more insight on what to expect in our marriage and in our relationship with God. We have had several people recomend this book to us, so having it for our small group discussion will be a great way to also get other people's perspective on marriage.

We were watching tv last night and we came to realize that there is nothing on tv worth watching anymore on any of the local channels in the evening. We want to go to a movie this weekend but don't know what we want to see. And one final thought, McAlister's Sweet Tea is AWESOME!! We had some this weekend! If it wasn't for Kristen, I would not know of this amazing drink. I love you Babe, not just for the tea thing but because each day with you is a new adventure that I look forward to!

The Weekend

Well, it's been a little bit since we updated our blog so ready, set, let's go. Let's start with last weekend. On Friday night we saw what could be one of the best movies ever. The Dark Knight. This second edition of the next generation batman was awesome! Great action scenes and a really creepy, scary, borderline insane Joker. Great movie!

Saturday night is our Church night, but after the service we went out to dinner with Gregg and Tami and had an awesome time just getting to know them and building a friendship with them. They talked us into trying this Quesadilla salad thing at Chili's. It was pretty good I must say so myself. After dinner, we headed over to Justin and Angie's house to hang out and play some Guitar Hero and watch MMA. It was a great evening overall and we had a blast.

Sunday we slept in becuase that's what we do now that we go to Church on Saturday nights! It's awesome! Anyways, it was just running errands and getting stuff done on Sunday, nothing real exciting. This week has been good. Ready for the weekend to get here. Friday we are heading over to our first small group meeting/dinner over at Justin and Angie's. It is going to be great meeting new people and sharing in fellowship.

This weekend is the second coming of nyy vs. RSN. That's the yankees and the REDSOX!! This weekend at Fenway! This series is always great because it brings all the crazy people out to the park and it's always great to play in atmospheres like this one. All I can hope for is that the REDSOX will sweep the yanks into oblivion and extend their lead in the AL East. For now I leave you with the following New England monolouge:"That pitchah throws a wicked hahhd fastball." and "dis guy says he can smack one ovah the Monstah and outta the pahhk."

Austin Was Amazing As Always..

Our trip to Austin a couple of weeks ago was fantastic, it was so nice to get away for awhile. One thing we hadn't ever done there was to play minature golf. Somehow we ended up deciding that the perfect time to go would be in the heat of the afternoon. Ha, we were wrong! It was fun but I literally thought my flip-flops were going to melt right off my feet. Lesley kicked both our butts. She didn't inform us that she was a pro at minature golf. When we finished we went and had these awesome snow-cones out of a little trailer, man were they good..!! Our next trip to Austin will hopefully be a trip to see the longhorns play.

Weekend Update

So our last post was about our Austin trip. After we got home last week we were pretty beat from the driving and stuff so last week was Chill Week 2008. Friday evening Kristen and I went to one of our favorite spots for all things breadsticks, salads, and pasta. The Olive Garden. Food was a great ending to a relaxing week. On Saturday morning we met at the Starbucks(non paid free name drop right there) on Grapevine Mills Pkwy with the group that will be starting the new College Ministry at our church. There were some familiar faces along with some new future friends in the mix. We are both really excited that our church is starting this for people in our age range because it will be a place where we can not only be involved in but also a place where we can help involve others.

Saturday night we went to Wild About Harry's with Kristen's friend and her boyfriend. It's a great little hot dog place on Knox Henderson in Dallas. I had the Texas and Kristen had the Dallas. I don't know, that's what they call their different hot dogs. Mine had chili and Kristen's had onion and relish. They were really good! You can't find hot dog places in the area so this was a great find.

I've been playing this really good song on my Ipod a lot lately by Sanctus Real. It's called Whatever You're Doing. It's about clearing your heart of everything and reevaluating who we are and reassuring God that he is solely in our hearts and having accountability for what we do. It's a cool song with a great meaning.

Austin Trip Through the Eyes of Sebastian

Well, we are back from our 4th of July trip down to A-Town or Austin as others like to call it. Kristen and I are there so much we should just become official Austinites. Their motto is Keep Austin Weird and let me tell you they do a heck of a job at living up to that.

On Thursday afternoon we made our way down I-35 and started our trip. Joining Kristen and I were her parents and her best friend. The drive down wasn't bad at all once we got out of metroplex rush hour traffic. We made pretty decent time too but by the time we got there we were all pretty hungry so we went to Chili's.

Friday morning we discovered what could be one of the 7 wonders of the food world, if there is such a thing. We went to Austin Java. At first we were a little skeptical because we had to park way down the street from this place and take a tour bus like electric super golf cart back to the restaurant. Once we got back to the place we went in and were pleasantly surprised by their food. I had the French Toast with some oj and Kristen had the blueberry pancakes. We also ordered potato and egg tacos. Let me start with. . . Yum! The French toast was the size of my face as was the pancake. We would have taken a picture of it, but by the time we thought about it all that was left was syrup residue on the plate.

That night was the 32nd annual 4th of July fireworks and symphony music celebration downtown on Town Lake. The show started at 8:30 and went through about 10 that night. The music was cool and the fireworks were out of this world. Rangers ballpark, take notice and step it up on your next firework show.

The next few days are a bit of a blur because it involved a lot of driving around town going here and there, but whatever it was it was fun. We went to several vintage shops, the co-op and down to SoCo or South Congress. There is where the Famous HomeSlice pizzeria is at. We ate lunch there one day just don't remember what day that was. Oh and we also had sno cones one day. Yeah, they were awesome!

Pictures to come from our trip so keep posted. Can't wait to go on another trip and next time we are so getting Flip Happy Crepes and Amy's Ice Cream!!

My Wonderful Birthday Weekend!!

Well, what can I say I'm another year older! The big 24! I'm finding that the older I get the better life seems to get. On the morning of my birthday I woke up to a big birthday bag from Sebastian waiting for me to open. To my surprise it was a hair dryer that I desperately wanted and needed. I love it so much! I took a half day off from work and went to lunch and then to pedicures with my mom and step-sister. That night we went to Salt Grass where we met up with Sebastian's family, we had a great time. Afterwards we had the best cake in the entire world, red velvet with chocolate chips. All I can say is YUMMY...!! On Saturday night we went out with some friends from my work to Chuys in Dallas, it was great. Then on Sunday we went and had dinner with my cousins and Aunt and Uncle at Red, Hot and Blue. Fantastic ribs!

So after a great weekend with lots of fun and food I'm exhausted. But I can't be tired for long we are leaving for Austin on Thursday for another fun filled weekend. My best friend Lesley will be joining us, she has never been to Austin so Sebastian and I are looking forward to showing her around town.

Things that have been on my mind lately:
- Still dreading my upcoming speech class
- Sebastian and I becoming a part of the middle school ministries at our church
- Wanting to move to the Plano or Frisco area
- Looking forward to the upcoming Batman movie and not sure if I want to be one of those people that see it at midnight on July 17th
- Can't wait to go to HomeSlice when we arrive in Austin

Our Past and Upcoming Weekend

So this Friday is Kristen's 24th Birthday. The BIG 2-4. Whooo!! Man we are getting old, well at least I am. Anyways, we have a packed weekend in store for us with all the celebrating we are going to be doing. So for her Birthday gift I got her, you really think I would just post it on here so everyone would know? Ha! If I told you it was a brand new car you think that would be able to be kept a secret? I didn't think so. So that's why I am not saying. Anyways, birthdays are always fun so we are both looking forward to it.

This past Sunday we celebrated my dad's birthday, I think he's like a 100 or something. I lost count after the candles covered the entire cake. We had dinner over at my parents house and hung out and played that game with the golf balls that is kind of like horeshoes, but we still don't have a name for it. Anyways, it was fun as always! Even though the team I was on lost the game, set and match. We all had a great time and we made fresh guacamole!! Can't be a party without that.

On Saturday night Kristen and I went out to dinner after church with Ben and his wife Rachel. They are both on the Worship team at church and they are awesome people. We had a great time talking to them and picking their brains about marriage and advice that they had for us as we continue our path towards our wedding day.

Found a new favorite song this weekend as well. It is by Third Day and is called Call My Name. It is awesome!

Songs I Like:

Favorite songs on my IPod:

1. Let it Fade (Jeremy Camp)
2. My Savior My God (Aaron Shust)
3. Came to my Rescue (Hillsong United)
4. Strong Tower (Kutless)
5. Voice of Truth (Casting Crowns)

Let this old life crumble, let it fade. Let this new life offered be your saving grace.
In our life be lifted high, In our world be lifted high, In our love be lifted high.
But the voice of truth tells me a different story. The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!" The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"

These are just some of the lyrics of these songs. They have such an amazing message and make you realize that you are not living for you alone, you are living for a higher purpose that can be revealed to you by accepting God's Grace.

I am so thankful to have Kristen to share my life with and continue on our journey with God. I love you babe!!

Weekend and Father's Day

Well this past weekend was awesome! Kristen and I got a chance to chill out. On Friday we went to Chipotle after a long hiatus from this awesome cuisine! I must say it was awesome, the carnitas there are out of this world. We decided to have our Netflix night but it's sad to say we were disappointed with the movie Lions for Lambs. We both felt that the movie didn't answer any questions and felt that it ended too soon and it left us hanging on what was going to happen. On Saturday morning we went over to Kristen's mom's house to visit with the new kitten. It was going crazy the whole time we were there climbing on stuff and chasing the older cat all over the house.
On Saturday evening we went to Church and Pastor Kevin started a new series about Defeating Death that was really concise and to the point about why we are here and what our purpose should be. After church we tried an Italian restaurant in Highland Village called Patrizzios. It was pretty darn tasty! After dinner we were introduced to a really fun game that's a better version of horseshoes but we used golf balls tied together with rope. Once we figure out what the name of the game is and a easy way to explain it we will post the details.
Sunday was Father's day so we got together and took the dads out for lunch. We went to Red Hot and Blue and we must say we were very impressed! The ribs were out of this world and the sweet tea is served by the pitcher. Both dads really enjoyed their lunch and had a great time. All in all it was a great weekend and we are looking forward to the coming weekend already!

Rangers and Fireworks

This is Kristen and I at the Ranger game on May 31st. We didn't really go to watch the game, althought somehow the Rangers managed to win that night 8-4, we went for the Fireworks Show after the game. It was pretty cool, they played a bunch of old songs by Elvis, The Beach Boys and the Beatles. Fireworks are cool, just don't light twenty sparklers all at once in your hand thinking that it will make one huge sparkler. It didn't work like I thought it would.

Trip Planner Extraordinaire!!

Kristen and I are heading to the Travel Agent to talk about our Honeymoon destination options. We have narrowed it down to the following: The Carribean, that is all. We have been talking about possible destinations and trip ideas for a while, but we both like the idea of turquoise water and white sand, and the snorkeling and maybe even swimming with some sharks!! Well, maybe not but it's sounds exciting. I know we'll have a great time wherever we go.

Mom's Surprise B-day Party

Oscar, me and Sebastian at my mom's surprise birthday party!

We're Enagaged...!!!

We're engaged!! I'm so excited, we are setting the date for May 16, 2009. Sebastian proposed on our family trip to Austin, I didn't even see it coming. It was very romantic. We are both currently living in Grapevine at the apartments behind Grapevine Mills Mall. I still work at the Gaylord and Sebastian is still at Hilton. I think we are destined to stay in the hotel business. We have two little boys, Buddy and Moo. They are truly are children, we wouldn't know what to do without them.
Blogging is new for the both of us and we're lookng forward to keeping everyone posted on our life and journey up to our wedding day.
Things that have been on my mind lately:
1. Finding a chapel for the wedding, a lot harder than one might think.
2. Really wanting to get another dog, but realizing we first need a backyard.
3. How much I dread my upcoming speech class next month.
4. How I can become a better fiance for Sebastian.
5. How can a banana be perfectly yellow when I leave my house then as soon as I get to work it turns brown..??
