Born Again

Third Day has become one our favorite bands because their sound and message are amazing. Their new single Born Again is awesome. I have to turn up the radio every time it comes on. Just read the lyrics below. It truly represents what Kristen and I felt like after we let God into our lives and the wonderful change that we experienced from then on.

Today I found myself
After searching all these years
And the man that I saw, he wasn’t at all who I thought he’d be
I was lost when you found me here
And I was broken beyond repair
Then you came along and you sang your song over me
It feels like I’m born again
It feels like I’m living
For the very first time
For the very first time
In my life
Make a promise to me now
Reassure my heart somehow
That the love that I feel is so much more real than anything
I’ve a feeling in my soul
And I pray that I’m not wrong
That the life I have now, it is only the beginning
It feels like I’m born again
It feels like I’m living
For the very first time
For the very first time
It feels like I’m breathing
It feels like I’m moving
For the very first time
For the very first time
I wasn’t looking for something that was more
Than what I had yesterday
Then you came to me and you gave to me
Life and a love that I’ve never known
That I’ve never felt before
It feels like I’m born again
It feels like I’m living
For the very first time
I’m living for the first time
It feels like I’m breathing
It feels like I’m moving
For the very first time
I’m living for the first time
In my life
These lyrics are truly a representation of what everyone could feel like if they let God into their lives and into their hearts. So open your heart to him and feel like your living, breathing and moving for the first time! You won't be disappointed!
"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." (John 3:3)
"I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again." (John 3:5-7)

Insert Sad Face Here ( )

Texas lost last night in the College World Series. That is all for today. Will be back in better spirits tomorrow.

Here's What's Next

This will be a short post because I am not one to gloat. But when a freshman pitcher shuts down what is thought to be the best offense in the country, you have to take notice. Texas wins last night's game after a weather delay 5-1 and ties up the series. It's for the whole shabang tonight as Texas and LSU play in game 3.

Kristen and I are going to make it a point to travel to Omaha next year this time to watch the College World Series. Hopefully Texas will be back again (to defend it's Title) so it would make the trip that much better.

It's almost July, and here in Texas that only means one thing: 100+ degree weather!! Sounds fun doesn't it? But I would take this instead of hurricanes, earthquakes and flooding. So I am thankful for the heat in the summer.

This weekend is Kristen, My Beautiful Wife's Birthday!! It's so awesome to say that, My Wife!! I am taking my wife out on Saturday night to celebrate her 25th! I can't wait because we are going to have a great time!! I hope she will be surprised when we :"{}}{}\\//?><&(?>!!~.

It looks like we had a malfunction with that last sentence and I won't be able to fix it to show you what we are doing. Looks like you will just have to wait and hear all about her birthday weekend later. So long for now and Hook Em'!!

Link & CWS

Kristen and I are a little bummed out today. Read below to find out why, but in the meantime check out this link below, I hear it's awesome!!!

Now that you've enjoyed the awesome link above take a deep breath because I am about to vent about baseball.

So last night Texas played LSU in Game 1 of the College World Series. It is the matchup that baseball fans have been anxiously anticipating for a while now. The best pitching staff (Texas) against the best offense (LSU). For 8 2/3 innings the pitching (Texas) dominated, but in the end the pitching let Texas down. Here are a few points I had:

1. Don't pull your starting pitcher if he's holding LSU to 1 run in 5 1/3 innings and has 10 strikeouts!!

2. Brining in your closer, who specializes in off speed pitches, in the 6th inning for the lefty on lefty matchup is a good call. Throwing fastballs to a fastball hitter, not a good call!!! Consequence: Triple to left center, game tied 3-3.

3. With 2 outs in the top of the 9th and up by 2 runs, pitchers need to throw strikes!! Being a pitcher it drives me crazy when guys come in from the bullpen and can't find the strikezone!! You were doing it in the pen why not do it on the mound? Consequence: Double to left, game tied 6-6.

4. If a runner is trying to steal 2nd in extra innings and no one is covering the bag, DON'T throw the ball down there!! Consequence: Winning run on 3rd.

5. When a batter(Mahtook) is 0-4 with 3 K's and is late on a 89 MPH fastball and your pitcher throws 97 MPH, WHY, WHY, WHY would you throw a curveball to this hitter and speed up his bat???? Consequence: Single up the middle to score the winning run for LSU.

So, the pitching let Texas down in Game 1. Final score 7-6 in 11 innings. Texas needs to come out today and even up the series to have a chance at the title. That's my baseball vent and I hope I don't have to come back tomorrow and post a blog of disappointment because Texas lost.

Random Thoughts & 1000 Hits

June 17th, 2009: We have officially reached 1000 hits on our blog!! It is actually 1005, but who cares we are over 1000!! The sad part is that our map will be erased tomorrow and there will be no more little red dots on it and the count will start again. But that's ok, that just means that we get to keep blogging in hopes that we will reach 1000 more people in the next year. We are also experimenting with different things to change up the look of the blog and little by little we will give it a more personal touch.

Kristen and I keep looking at our wedding pictures to try and pick out the ones that we want to get developed and put into frames. We have an awesome idea, well Kristen had an awesome idea, for a way that we can use our pictures as decorations. Once we accomplish this feat we will post pictures!!

The past couple of weeks at church have been great. Pastor Kevin's message, Life 2.0, has been relevant, real and right to the point. Living Purposefully and Loving Deeply have been the messages the past two weeks. It really opens your eyes to how we all really need to focus our hearts and our intentions to be more like God to our family, friends, and everyone. If only everyone would do this each and every day. Imagine the change that would happen in our communities if we all just treated each other with respect and were hospitable to people's needs.

On another note, Texas Baseball somehow won last night's game against ASU. They get two days of rest before playing again on Friday on their way to the College World Series Championship!

For now that's all I have. So, for our 1st guest on our map of this new blog year, thanks! We hope you enjoy it!

Please enjoy our wedding slideshow with music.......!!!!

A Year of Blogging!

Well, Kristen and I have been going on almost a year since we started our blog last June and we are almost at 1000 hits! I know that may not seem like a lot, but it's 1000! As you can see from the map below we have gotten people from many parts of the world to check out what we are up to. Right now we are at 974 so we need your help to reach 1000. So if there are 26 of you out there who have not checked out our blog yet, come and take a look and invite a friend.

Anyways, it has been a great eventful year. Kristen and I got engaged in March of 08 after dating for 10 years, we both came to God to be Baptized in August of 08, and we were just recently Married on May 16, 2009. We both look forward to continuing to share our life stories and our walk with God and hope that you enjoy and take strength and comfort in His word and love as we have!

Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish, in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! (Hebrews12:2-3 The Message)
