Almost There!!

Well, tomorrow is June 1st which means that Olivia will be here with us this month on the 21st. Both of us are really anxious and excited to finally meet our daughter! We'll post some more current pictures of both Kristen and Olivia (Sonogram) soon.

I am also tackling our guest bathroom this week. Pray that I do not hurt myself in the process and that our house continues to be in one piece when I'm finished! I've been watching the DIY Network for a while now and have a pretty good idea of what to do and what not to do. I'll keep you posted on that as well.

So stay tuned as we keep you posted on what's going on!

May 5th....

It's May 5, 2011, so to most people it is Cinco de Mayo! They will throw parties, eat Mexican food and try to reach their inner Mexican roots. Today really means nothing in the big picture of it all though. Today is just a day to remember the Mexican army's victory over the French way back in 1862 in the Battle of Puebla.

Have you ever sat back and just though about how many "holidays" there are and how many of them are actually meaningful? I, for one think that there are too many fabricated "holidays" throughout the year. But I guess to some it's a good excuse to throw parties and spend money.

I feel that celebrations should mean something, and not just be a thing to do once each year. I think if more people felt that way then society would refocus to what is really important. So, if you're going to celebrate, make sure it means something and that you celebrate with the people you love. Just a thought that was on my mind today.
